Yaaassssss, it's FriYay! Let's get straight in-muthafuckin'-to it! LOL! We all thoroughly enjoy when the baddest bi-yotch of the week shows up lookin' all fly and thangs. LOL, like really, Friday a.k.a. FriYay is the Rhianna of the week. When she shows up we know it's time to get Fierce, Fly and Free for the next couple of days. Now, listen here, I am in no way shape or form, hating on any of the other days. I love every day of life that I am blessed to see and fully experience. I have even taught myself to shift my thinking and feelings (feelings have tremendous power, but I'm not going to get all deep and metaphysical right at this moment) when it comes to Monday. No need to dread ANY day of the week. Our attitudes- sheesh, we must become more mindful of them. Think of it like this, Monday is like the Oprah of the week- it's bold, it's about business and it ain't goin' nowhere. It's the day to get back into doing our work and running our empires. It's a fresh start that shows up consistently every 7 days to propel us into our destinies. But anyways- back to the freshest "F" word in the lexicon right now- FRIYAY!
Friday is the day to release it all back to wherever it came from- whatever it is. It has always been a time of celebration for me. I'm literally into giving thanks and finding the smallest things to give thanks for in life- even if it is being uber excited about FRIDAY. I grew up seeing my mother and her friends/sisters get primped and pretty on Friday (and Saturday) nights. Those are some of my most fondest memories. It literally felt like a birthday every seven days. The lipstick, the laughter, the perfume in the air, the pumps, the music being played. Aaah, such sweet times. I couldn't wait for my experience with Friday. LOL. Now, even if I am not going out, to be free from the responsibilities of the week is enough for me. There is this sweet, joyful, and youthful spirit that floats through the weekend. I don't know about y'all, but I do enough adulting in life- and not to mention- I am damn good at it.
slide on your fishnets & stilettos and take yourself to a saucy bistro
ask your crush out for cocktails
put brunch on the schedule for Sunday
go be a tourist in your own city
and so much more (you have two full days to do any of these things!)
As hard on myself as I am about reaching goals and building wealth and maintaining health and blah blah blah.... I have to remember to LIVE life! Not some mediocre- "oh, I'm always working" or "I'm studying right now" or "Let me see what HE wants to do" or "I don't have anyone to go with" or "I wish I could afford that" ass life either. Nah- time out for that.
Think of it like this, Friday is the gateway to adventure, whatever that looks like for you. What are you doing this weekend? Can you come out and play?
